Our Roots and Passions
We’ve reached out to some remarkable women at Volanté to gain insight into their lives beyond the corporate sphere. They kindly shared their stories:
Amina, Training and Onboarding Specialist
“From Bangladesh originally but grew up in Dubai, U.A.E. As for my interests and hobbies, they span quite a wide range – I’m passionate about video games, software development, arts & crafts, reading, manga & anime, Dungeons & Dragons, and many other nerdy pursuits that would take forever to list. What inspired me to venture into the tech industry? Surprisingly, it was the Prince of Persia MS-DOS version that first sparked my fascination with technology. And beyond all else, what truly brings me joy and keeps my world spinning are my family and my three tuxedo fur babies. My husband and I affectionately refer to them as the ‘interns’.”
Rabiya, Project Coordinator
“My home country is Pakistan, and having previously worked there, I bring in a depth of experience. Specializing in quality assurance and project management, I found immense satisfaction in my work. I take pleasure in being an integral part of the solution, handling new requirements, and managing client relationships. The dynamic nature of software projects truly inspires me, and I thoroughly enjoy the challenges that come with it. Being a part of the tech industry brings me immense joy. The fast-paced and ever-evolving nature of technology excites me, as it allows for continuous learning and growth.”
Tasnim, Technical Support Specialist
“I am from Bangladesh. My interests and hobbies reflect my love for diversity and creativity – I’m passionate about music, both listening and singing, and I adore exploring cuisines from around the world, occasionally trying my hand at cooking. Additionally, I pursue makeup semi-professionally, using my skills to help people feel confident and beautiful for special occasions. What drove me to delve into the world of technology was my fascination with mathematics and the challenge of solving intricate technical problems. Beyond my professional pursuits, what truly brings me joy is being surrounded by good-hearted individuals and a positive atmosphere. I find fulfillment in continually working on myself, striving to become a better version of who I am each passing day.”
Navreet, Solution Sales Specialist
“My upbringing in India laid the foundation for my journey to Canada in 2013, a venture I undertook independently. Amidst the challenge of selecting a career path, I found my way into the Computer Technology field, driven by the conviction that women contribute a unique perspective to computing. With an emphasis on thoughtfulness over technical immediacy, I believe we bring a valuable dimension to the field. Education became our means of transcending the limitations imposed by a prejudiced society, a belief deeply ingrained in me. Beyond my professional pursuits, I find immense fulfillment in the realms of Arts & Crafts and Décor. Surprisingly, I’ve become the go-to person for event decorations within my family circle, extending to Banquet halls on occasion. Above all, my family and children are my greatest sources of joy, fueling my passion to make a meaningful impact in life.”
Princy, QA Analyst
“I’m from Chandigarh, known as “The city beautiful,” in India. My interests and hobbies encompass a wide spectrum; I’m an avid enthusiast of thriller movies and find immense joy in the art of cooking. The satisfaction of seeing others relish my creations is unparalleled, as cooking not only nourishes the body but also feeds the soul. What inspired my journey into the tech industry was the allure of new technologies and the intrigue of coding. Beyond professional aspirations, what truly makes my world go round and brings me the greatest joy is spending quality time with my family, who hold the key to all the happiness in my life.”
Like these women and countless others within our ranks, each contributing their unique talents and passions, we collectively shape the vibrant culture that defines Volanté.
